Dear taylorswift
I wanted to tell you a little story of how much you’ve helped me in the past couple of months. So September 30, 2013 my grandma was diagnosed with cancer. She had lung, thyroid, and 3 massive tumors on her brain. They did chemo and radiation to try and keep the swelling in her brain down.. But with 3 tumors there wasn’t much hope. For a while she was doing so so so well. She was still getting out of the house and doing things with her grandchildren… But as she kept getting the chemo it seemed as though she was getting sicker and sicker. She couldn’t get out of bed anymore. I would go over her house everyday after school and sit in her bed with her. Finally her doctor said to go to the hospital. They put her on a physical therapy floor because she had sever arthritis in her spine from laying in bed for so long. They thought she would get better but she wouldn’t. She couldn’t. They sent her home with hospice in January. Everyday getting worse and worse. They gave us a book to read to see signs of someone’s passing. Well about a week before she passed she was showing all of these signs. They said she would have one really good day where she would eat a lot and have energy and be talking a lot. Well she had that day and it actually gave me hope that I might get my grandma back. Get my best friend back. After that day it started getting worse. She started calling out for her mom who passed years ago so we knew it wouldn’t be long. I sat by her side for 3 days. She would call out my name and respond to me, but no one else. One of the last things she said to me was; “Taylor, don’t forget I’ll always be with you, I love you.” On March 17th, St. Patricks Day, my grandmother lost her battle to cancer. I lost my best friend in the whole world. As soon as it happened I started crying and hoping it wasn’t true. Whenever I got home I went to my room and cried for hours blasting tied together with a smile. Everyone at school thinks I’m so brave because I’m never upset but really I cry everyday.
Taylor, without your music and smile I don’t know what I would’ve done. You helped me through the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. Thank you so much for everything. I love you so much. Thank you for making me strong even when I felt like I was going to break.
Love,
Taylor
